The annual Odessa festival of ballet "Summer in the Art Nouveau style" traditionally presents the best productions of the Kiev theater "Kiev Modern-Ballet" under the direction of Radu Poklitar. This year the theater will present the premiere of the ballet "Giselle" and the ballet performances that are most enjoyed by the audience.
"Carmen.TV" - the first production of the theater "Kiev Modern-Ballet" literally blew up the whole theatrical world. The interpretation turned out to be ambiguous. Radu Poklitaru believes that the drama should be told with some kind of inner laughter. Laughter in this case - a synonym for a sober view of life. The stage life of the characters of the play is filled with piercing modern intonations, while preserving all the charm of Spain of the XIX century, and the brilliant music of the opera "Carmen", made it possible to create a completely new play without changing the spirit of Georges Bizet.
Decorations and costumes created by some of the best theater artists of our time, Andrei Zlobin and Anna Ipatieva, convey the unique atmosphere and color of the time. The performance "Carmen.TV" at one time received two prizes "Kyiv Pectoral" - as the Best Performance of the Year, and also for the Best Performance of the Choreographer. Creation of a unique theater "KIEV MODERN-BALLET", headed by Radu Poklitaru, one of the leading choreographers of our time, was a great event in the contemporary art life of the country and opened the world of modern dance theater to the Ukrainian audience. KIEV MODERN-BALLET is conceived as an author's theater, where the basis of the repertoire and artistic priorities determine the unique style of Radu Poklitaru and the bold creative search for young talented choreographers, pupils of the maestro. During the existence of the theater, 13 one-act and 5 full-length performances were created. The theater received 5 "Kyiv Pectoral" awards for the best performances of the year. In 2016, Radu Poklitaru won the Shevchenko Prize.
